{"id":1020,"date":"2024-03-15T11:23:03","date_gmt":"2024-03-15T10:23:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.solucionobesidad.com\/service\/revision-chirurgie\/"},"modified":"2024-04-08T11:16:26","modified_gmt":"2024-04-08T09:16:26","slug":"revision-chirurgie","status":"publish","type":"tratamiento","link":"https:\/\/www.solucionobesidad.com\/en\/service\/revision-chirurgie\/","title":{"rendered":"REVISIONAL SURGERY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After more than 30 years of Obesity Surgery and the evolution of surgical techniques, there are approximately 20% of patients that may fail after 5 years,\u00a0<strong>regaining most of the lost weight, or relapsing some comorbidities, or both<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>These failures may be caused in some cases to\u00a0<strong>complications of the original surgical technique<\/strong>, especially in patients operated long time ago with obsolete ancient techniques (eg. Vertical Banded gastroplasty), or choosing a bariatric or metabolic technical inadequate to the patient. However, failures mostly occur because a\u00a0<strong>lack of dietary monitoring in the long term and loss of the therapeutic adherence<\/strong>\u00a0by patients with abandon of healthy habits.
